What to Expect During a Reiki Session
Before the Session
Before your first Reiki session, I’ll send you a client form to fill out. This helps me get to know you better and understand your needs, so we can make the most of your session. Your first visit will be 1 ½ hours long to give us plenty of time to chat, answer any questions you might have, and ensure you feel comfortable and at ease.
Before we begin, I recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully. There’s nothing you need to bring—just your lovely self! If you have any questions or concerns, we can chat beforehand to make sure you’re at ease.
During the Session
Your session will take place in a serene, calming space designed to help you unwind from the moment you step in. You’ll be invited to lie down, fully clothed, on a comfortable massage table. I’ll provide a blanket if you’d like, so you can get cozy and relaxed. Soft music will play in the background, creating a peaceful environment for your experience.
I will gently place my hands slightly above different areas of your body, focusing on where the energy is most needed. If you’re here for an Animal Companion Reiki session, I will work gently and intuitively, always respecting your animal companion’s comfort and boundaries.
How It Feels
Each Reiki experience is unique, and people often describe feeling:
Deep Relaxation: Many clients enter a state of calm and tranquility, similar to meditation or a restful nap.
Warmth or Tingling: You might feel warmth, tingling, or gentle waves of energy as it flows through your body. It’s a sign that the healing energy is moving and balancing.
Emotional Release: Sometimes, Reiki brings up emotions. This is a natural part of the healing process, allowing you to release what you no longer need.
But don’t worry if you don’t feel anything specific—that’s perfectly normal too! Reiki works on a subtle level, and your body will take in exactly what it needs.
After the Session
When the session ends, I’ll give you a few quiet moments to sit up slowly and ground yourself. I encourage you to drink some water and take your time as you ease back into your day. Many people feel refreshed, lighter, and more centered afterward. Sometimes, you might feel a bit drowsy or deeply relaxed—that’s just your body integrating the healing energy.
If you’re here for multiple sessions, we’ll discuss how you’re feeling and any shifts you might have noticed. Reiki is a gentle process that unfolds over time, so each session can bring new insights and healing.
